'Twas the Night Before Summer

 ‘Twas the night before summer, and all through the schools

Children were dreaming of jumping in pools

School bags were hung on their hooks with care

In hopes that the school buses soon would be there

The students are waiting for summer vacation

Everyone bursting with anticipation

There will be cottages, camping and all kinds of fun

Swimming, laughing and soaking up sun

Play outside often and read when you can

Be sure to wear sunscreen when trying to tan

Practice your times tables and take time to explore

When you return you’ll be in grade four!

Be kind to your friends, sisters and brothers

Be sure to listen to your fathers and mothers

It was a pleasure to teach you this school year

We’ve made many memories I will always hold dear

The minute hand finally says 10 minutes to four

The students are ready to dash for the door

As the bell rings and you run out of sight

I wish you a summer that is cheerful and bright

EQAO is officially done! Everyone remained positive and enthusiastic throughout the duration of the testing and tried their very best. The Fun Fair and Talent Show were a great way to end the week and celebrate their hard work. Our class will be participating in the Swim to Survive program, which will take place on June 16th and 18th in the afternoon. A permission form and note outlining all of the details will be sent home early next week. I will also be looking for some male and female volunteers to accompany us to Entrance Pool on both of these dates. Our class is looking forward to a wonderful last month together! 'Twas the night before EQAO, when all through the school

Mrs. Brown’s students were keeping their cool

All EQAO bags had been prepared with care

In hope that the morning soon would be there

While the students were nestled all snug in their beds

Visions of word problems danced in their heads

The students are ready for what comes next

Our pencils are sharpened and ready to go

Now it is time to show what we know

This week of testing will not make us pout

We have our manipulatives to help us out

It is time to work quietly and try our best

Soon we will get a well-deserved rest

Bring on the reading, writing and math

We are prepared for whatever is put in our path

The tests will be collected and locked up so neat

Everyone will cheer when EQAO is complete

Soon we can celebrate and finally be loud

You have all made Mrs. Brown very proud
