‘Twas the night before summer, and all through
the schools
Children
were dreaming of jumping in pools
School
bags were hung on their hooks with care
In
hopes that the school buses soon would be there
The
students are waiting for summer vacation
Everyone
bursting with anticipation
There
will be cottages, camping and all kinds of fun
Swimming,
laughing and soaking up sun
Play
outside often and read when you can
Be
sure to wear sunscreen when trying to tan
Practice
your times tables and take time to explore
When
you return you’ll be in grade four!
Be
kind to your friends, sisters and brothers
Be
sure to listen to your fathers and mothers
It
was a pleasure to teach you this school year
We’ve
made many memories I will always hold dear
The minute hand finally says 10 minutes to four
The minute hand finally says 10 minutes to four
The
students are ready to dash for the door
As the bell rings and you run out of sight
I wish you a summer that is cheerful and bright
