Spring Cleaning!

Portfolios went home today. There is a new math assessment as well as a reading comprehension assessment. The homework for this week is for students to go through the portfolio with their parent (s) and complete the checklist at the front, as well as the rubric for the reading assessment. Our tracking focus for the next 2 months will be reading comprehension. We also cleaned out a lot of the daily work that has been up on walls or kept in the classroom. All of this work is in a brown folder and all of it can stay at home. Only the portfolio binder and the work inside comes back to school. We have 2 students in the class raising money for CHEO and the Angel Hair Foundation and they will also be donating their own hair at the end of April! So far they have reached their goal of raising $100 and will continue to collect donations into April. Way to go ladies!! If there are questions about anything, please contact me at the school. Thanks.

Spring?

Thank you to all the parents who helped tie skates this year and volunteered with the skating. The students had a wonderful time and your help was greatly appreciated. As we slowly (and hopefully) enter spring I am suggesting to students to pack an extra pair of socks and mitts in their bags since those tend to become quite wet during the day. Portfolios will be going home at the end of March with assessments from February and March. The two months are combined since they are both short months. If there are any questions about anything please contact me at the school. Thanks.
