'Twas the Night Before EQAO

'Twas the night before EQAO, when all through the school

Mrs. Brown’s students were keeping their cool

All EQAO bags had been prepared with care

In hope that the morning soon would be there

While the students were nestled all snug in their beds

Visions of word problems danced in their heads

Multiply choice, long and short text

The students are ready for what comes next

Our pencils are sharpened and ready to go

Now it is time to show what we know

This week of testing will not make us pout

We have our manipulatives to help us out

It is time to work quietly and try our best

Soon we will get a well-deserved rest

Bring on the reading, writing and math

We are prepared for whatever is put in our path

The tests will be collected and locked up so neat

Everyone will cheer when EQAO is complete

Soon we can celebrate and finally be loud

You have all made Mrs. Brown very proud

Upper Canada Village!

We had an amazing day at Upper Canada Village today! Thank you very much to all the wonderful volunteers who came out to spend the day with us. We couldn't have done it without you! The students were engaged and enjoyed asking questions at each stop, They really loved  checking out the old school house!

Jump Rope for Heart

This Friday our students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart! We will rotate through various jumping stations with the help of the grade 6 students and parent volunteers. We are asking that each student bring a water bottle for the day so we can limit entry into the school for water fountain drinks. Each student is making a heart which says who they are jumping for. These are hung in the entrance of the school on skipping ropes. It is sure to be a wonderful afternoon!

Portfolios

Portfolios were sent home on Friday and should be signed and returned by Friday May 8th. Please enjoy going through all the work we've been doing and be sure to check out the goals your child has made for their learning. Education week begins on Monday and there are various exciting events that will be occurring all week long. All events are listed at the top of my blog, it is sure to be a wonderful week.
