Museum of History

Our class had a wonderful day at the Museum of History! We spent the morning in the Children's Museum getting our passports stamped as we visited the exhibits from different countries. We then watched "Flight of the Butterflies" at the Imax Theatre. It was an amazing documentary about the Monarch Butterfly and the incredible journey they take. We ended the day by visiting the rest of the museum and the special exhibits that are currently on display, like the "Empress of Ireland, Canada's Titanic".  Our class would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who helped out and made the day run so smoothly!

Drumming Workshop

Last week our class participated in a wonderful drumming workshop put on by Leo Brooks. We learned how to properly play the Djembe, which is a West African drum. The students worked with different rhythms and practiced staying on the beat. They did an excellent job playing the djembe and discovered many connections between music and math. We have continued to explore different instruments from around the world within our classroom.

Wednesday 4 June 2014

Good Afternoon,

We have been very busy the last two weeks with EQAO, but we are officially finished tomorrow. Everyone has worked hard and been very positive throughout the duration of the testing. Today I have sent home a note about our upcoming field trip! We will be heading to the Museum of  History (formerly The Museum of Civilization) on Monday, June 23rd. Please return all forms and permission slips by Wednesday, June 11th. I have also sent home all prepaid tickets for the Fun Fair, you will find these in an envelope stapled to the current date in your child's agenda. If there are any questions about anything, please use your child's agenda or contact me at the school. Thanks.
