Skating

Just a reminder that we are skating tomorrow morning. We will be leaving by bus at 9:30 am. Any volunteers to tie skates, or skate with us, are asked to meet us at the arena between 9:30 and 9:40 am. We will be leaving the arena around 10:30 am to head back to the school. Students are reminded to bring their skates and helmet in an appropriate bag and to dress warm!! Hockey sticks are not permitted. Thank you.

Skating forms and portfolios

Portfolios will be going home this Friday, Jan 24. Our first skating date is Thursday Jan 23. The bus will be leaving the school at 9:30 am, any parents who are volunteering are asked to meet us at the arena around 9:40. Please note that if parents plan to join on the ice, they are required to wear a helmet as well. We are fortunate to have the skating dates are part of our physical education program! If any students do not have skates or a helmet, and cannot participate for this reason, please let me know. I will be sending home page 2 of the permission form with some students. The bottom section of the form needs to be signed, regardless of whether the top part needed to be completed. I apologize for the confusion, this is a new permission form from the school board, and it is a bit confusing.The bottom section permits that medical treatment can be given, if needed. Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Homework is starting again, the writing portion is due every Monday and students are asked to read  1-2 books through Reading A-Z.  They are also asked to dedicate some time, daily or weekly, to the math Dreambox program. If there are any questions please let me know. We will be finishing up some work in language, math and science over the next 2 weeks and I hope to send portfolios home by the end of next week.
